Summer weddings are just lovely because everything is warm and flowers are in full bloom. Everything looks and feels good despite the heat. The season itself is very festive with its bright colors; and most brides schedule their weddings over the summer. Beach weddings are perfect for this season and you wouldn’t run out of foliage to choose from. Picking summer wedding dresses would be easy because it’s summer you can be more experimental and playful with it. Instead of using the traditional white dress you can now use bright colors that represent the season.

Summer wedding dresses does not have to be necessarily thick and elaborate. And with the hotter temperature, you must choose fabrics that are light and comfortable. Chiffon is a lightweight fabric which lets air circulate and it also comes in different colors. It is sheer and it can be used on top of another fabric.  Other fabrics that are perfect for the summer include organza, crepe, georgette, tulle and lace. These are very stylish and create a summer look that suits your wedding. Avoid fabrics that are too shiny because it will reflect the sunlight and might be painful to look at.

Summer means hotter temperature so go for shorter summer wedding dresses. Don’t make it too short because it will be inappropriate for a wedding ceremony. Dresses that end midway through your calf are gorgeous and it looks well with high heels. You can also opt for a hemline that will end to your knees or a little below them. You can also use dresses with flowing skirts, a classic look associated with Audrey Hepburn. If you still want a floor-length dress, just make sure that the fabric is light and avoid using layers or petticoats. If you still want a train go for the short and detachable ones.

As hemlines go shorter, necklines and sleeves will also go shorter for summer wedding dresses. This is the perfect excuse to show some skin. It is better if you even out your skin tone or get a tone. You can be sexy by choosing the right styles like strapless dresses, halters, or v-necks. These will make you sexy but not provocative, just appropriate for your wedding ceremony. If you have nice shoulders and toned arms then a strapless dress would look good on you. For the petite bride, a dress with a defined waste and flowing skirt is recommended. They might not be like the traditional wedding dresses but it doesn’t make them less stylish and beautiful.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with bright colors and accessories. Flowers with bright colors are great accents to pastel-colored summer wedding dresses. Or pastel colored flowers to bright colored dresses. Other brides even use these flowers as hair accessories which are easier as compared to tedious hairstyles. Choose a bouquet that would complement your overall summer look. Make-up should not be too thick because there is a big possibility of it melting due to perspiration and hot temperature.
